Kate and Terry win again!!

Woot! A $100 gift voucher as the winner of the lucky door prize for attending the "Sustainable Illawarra" afternoon.

Kate and I are involved in a sustainability project in our local area and attended a function to meet others. I've attached a link to the site. Lots of great ideas etc to help around the home. It is three local councils getting together to help educate the people in their regions. Some good things going on.

Anyway, a $100 will help us get a few more established fruit trees to plant to accompany our thriving orange tree.

First batch down

Please note that due to the high risk to myself I have elected to wear protective clothing whilst testing. Don't attempt this at home kids.

Well we have bottled the first batch of home brew and put a wheat beer down as well. Now we have a couple of weeks to wait and we get to taste!!

We went a bit further into the home brew realm and boiled our malt for an hour this time before adding the can. Will see if it makes any difference. Next step is a batch from scratch..well sort of.

Something different

>No idea where to start, except that it must end. All the senseless violence that makes up our culture….must end. We now have alternatives that need to be embraced to not only guarantee the survival of individual nations, but our survival as a race on its own.

We need to seek a path of mutual understanding that each and every person can embrace no matter what their colour, background or religion. We are here struggling to survive as an entity, as human kind, we just don’t know it yet. Our biggest struggle lies within.

I have spoken to so many nationalities all of which are just like you and I, they want the best for their children, they also are a product of programming and indoctrination, they have their own faults and vices, their own prejudices and hatred, but where does it end?? WITH US!!

We have no other alternative but to oppose the current political doctrine with one of world unification. Maybe like Gandhi we just need to "go out and meet the people!"

A boys weekend

Well, Kate has gone to Masha's (her sisters) and Dave should be here soon. Good mates together for the first time in 5 years. Potentially a big night of fun and mayhem or just a night of drunken stupidity.

Update at 11.

Our family

For those that haven't met our family may I introduce to you......

Max and Roxy........btw Max is the manly cat :0

A minor rectification

Well....I f&%$ed it so I needed to fix it. I actually thought about getting a chippy to do it but thought I should have a go myself.

It does still need painting but it's not bad. :)

Again.....I put it down to not playing wow and actually enjoying life. I also enjoyed the refreshing taste of coopers ale whilst working.

Fire Marshall required

Well as the pictures show we seem to have had a small problem. One of our neighbours woke us at just after 6am to tell us we had a fire. I said, yes inside the house we do. She said no, your fence is on fire.

At 6am I posses the dazzling reflexes made famous by the startled gazelle's of Africa. So, after finally comprehending that "our fence was on fire" I made my way out to the scene with hose in hand.

It would appear that when I cleaned out our slow combustion fire yesterday that there were some solid metal bolts in with the ash and that they slowly worked their magic on our compost heap. The result is as you see.

Roxy was quiet interested in whether another escape route had been created for her.

"And the envelope please......the award for embarrassed fool of the neighbourhood goes to......ME!"
